It's a language, whether you like it or not
I hate it when people think we are automatically stupid because we cannot speak. Foreign language speakers, though they cannot speak English, are treated with more respect, simply because they 1) produce sounds that construe a language 2) have the ability to learn to speak English.
American Sign Language isn’t a language to them because it is not spoken, no matter how hard we try to convince them. It’s built in their ignorant human conscious. So fuck them all, they’re damaged goods. Start when they’re young, fresh and ripe!

My ex roomie could speak better than me, but seh WAS dumb, in a low-IQ test kind of way. For real. I loved her as a roomie and all, but let’s face it. She WAS a dim bulb.
But people would listen to her and walk away confused, but then never think of asking me, who has a MA degree and can explain things very clearly (in print).

yes i see how u feel well as well as a hearing person can im sorey that a lot of people out there are ignorent about the deaf and act liek there stupid there not at all i admire them for that they are able to deal with life in silence im learning ASL and i think its a really cool language id like to be an inturprator when i am older i love the language i think the other languages SUCK compared to ASL its Awsome and i wish they did have signs in airports
